NO-HITTERS DURING CY YOUNG AWARD SEASONS
In the Cy Young Award era (1956-2019), there have been 170 no-hitters. Of those, 38 were pitched by Cy Young Award winners. But only nine were pitched during the season that the pitcher won the Cy Young Award. They are:
- Sandy Koufax, 1963 and 1965
- Mike Scott, 1986
- Roy Halladay, 2010, one in the regular season and one in the playoffs
- Justin Verlander, 2011 and 2019
- Clayton Kershaw, 2014
- Jake Arrieta, 2015

In the Cy Young Award era (1956-2019), 18 seasons have had a Cy Young Award winner on the team to win the World Series. It hasn’t happened since Randy Johnson led the Diamondbacks to the 2001 title.
